Michael Barker and Tom Bernard are coming together to help with Bennett Miller's Foxcatcher. SPC will be releasing it on December 20. It will contain the actors Channing Tatum, Mark Ruffalo, Steve Carell, Anthony Michael Hall, and many more. The story is about two Olympic Wrestling Champion brothers, Mark Schuktz and David Schultz who put careful effort into a close relationship with John du Pont. They want a good relation ship with him so they can heir his fortune.
I feel like this article is important because it can get the film industry money because of Miller. Miller has gotten Best Picture nominees for Moneyball and Capote. He's also worked with Barker and Bernard for Capote and enjoys their view on how Foxcatcher could be. It would also bring money to the film industry because of the actors. Many people love to see the hot Channing Tatum, the funny Steve Carell, and the old 80's star, Anthony Michael Hall. When reading this article, what caught my eye was Miller, with his Best Picture nominees, and Anthony Michael Hall. If Miller got Moneyball and Capote to be on the nominees list of Best Picture, then Foxcatcher could surely be a great film.
An impact this can make for us, students, is that when it is released we can watch and learn how Miller, Barker, and Bernard use their "ability to market unique and complex films." As a consumer, I think anyone would go watch the film because it's directed by Miller, the actors are well known, and the storyline seems interesting. This article didn't really raise any questions or for the industry.

ReplyDeleteI believe the demographic of the film will vary. For example, Channing Tatum is 33, Steve Carell is 50, Sienna Miller 31, Vanessa Redgrave 76, Anthony Micheal Hall and Mark Ruffalo are both 45.
